Do you approach everybody with this type of attitude?  

Do you ask about them to get to know them?  

Do you find out what they need in their life at this moment?

When you ask questions of everyone you meet to truly find out about them, you are able to find ways to help each other.  They literally will show you how to work with them in one way or another.  Every person wants to feel like they are important which you show by listening and looking for ways to help.  

The big secret here is to do this without having an agenda of what you are looking to do with them.  People can see and feel that coming.  Just be in the moment with them conversing and truly looking for ways to help them out.  Be of service to them and watch what emerges from your interactions.

Now outside of the doing this with the new people you meet, think of ways to do the same with the people you already know.  How much deeper will this build your connections?  How much more will you bring into their lives and in turn, your life?  

Time to make those who come into your life feel as important as they truly are.

Which one do you want in your life?  Would you rather be building your own dream or building someone else’s dream for them?  

The latter is exactly what you do when you work for someone else.  They have a dream for their business and the leverage they are using to help them reach their dream is hiring others to use their time and efforts to move the business owner’s goals forward.  Smart business on their part.  

Is this how you want to use your time – working for someone else?  Is their dream more important to you than your own dreams?

If your dream is more important, then we need to change something in your life.  We need to help you create a large enough dream which motivates you enough to put your dream first.  It’s the choice all entrepreneurs make.  They would rather build their dream and hire others to gain additional leverage on the path to their goals.  Great plan to implement!

Both sides of this equation need each other to succeed.  This dependency on each other  makes either choice perfect as long as you make the conscious choice knowing whose dream you are building.

Have you ever lost your fire?  It happens from time-to-time for many people.  
 

If you have lost it, how did you reignite it?  There are many ways for it to burst into flames again.  One of the most effective is to surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you.

Many times, people surround themselves only with those they are comfortable.  The challenge there is will any of those people push or inspire you to step up when they see you stuck in a rut in life.  More commonly, people keep others who are very much like them.  Having only the agreeable friends and family holds back your inspiration and fire.  They rarely push outside your comfort level.

Keep people in your life who are happy to question you about what you do and why you do it.  They are some of the most valuable people to spend time with regularly since they will keep expanding your capabilities and opportunities.  These people are the ones who will cause deep thinking which often reveals the spark for your next fire.

Now what if you just don’t have these people in your life now?  This is one reason many people hire a coach.  It’s the coaches job to do exactly this for you.  Having someone who knows the questions to ask and how to help you find that fire is priceless.  It will help you stay on track to create the life of your dreams.  

Keep your eyes open for those who can serve this role in your life.  They are often right in front of you.

Have you taken the next step with your dreams?  Most never do.  They always lack at least one of the four components Jesse lists which holds them back from ever achieving their dreams. 

Often, people will go in spurts with these four key traits for success.  The determination to succeed comes and goes.  When they are irritated enough by their current circumstances, they are determined to make a change… until this feeling lessens some.

Dedication and self-discipline are extremely variable.  For many, the pain of making the change is greater than the pain of staying where they are.  This is the reason many people stay stuck.  The dream of doing and achieving something different is a fantastic thought.  In many cases, the pain of where they are now must increase to get over this hurdle. 

And then we come to effort.  Many times this one comes down to a lack of confidence in knowing what truly to do next to create the success they want.  This is one reason I coach and train entrepreneurs worldwide.  I want to make sure others who do want to achieve their dreams have access to the help to get them there.

When you look at most successful entrepreneurs, there is a strong inner drive which powers these four traits.  The inner drive brings these four traits together is your ‘why’.  When your ‘why’ is strong enough and big enough, the other traits fall in line more easily.  Your ‘why’ creates and energizes the determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort to power your success train.    

Take the time to find your ‘why’ now.  Being clear in yours is one of the surest ways to achieve any dream.

Have you ever said to yourself or out loud, “Now’s not the right time to do ______.”?  

Typically this is followed by a set of statements which are essentially your criteria to meet before moving forward.  The familiar statements are related to time, money and knowledge. 

Now here’s the big question:  How often have you ever met these criteria and then moved forward with the idea?

Most people I know never move forward with the idea.  They forget about what they felt they had to do before they moved forward or another set of circumstances arise which became the new criteria to complete before stepping forward.  Sound familiar at all?

As Napolean Hill says, the time will never be just right.  When you want to do something, the right time to start moving forward on it is now.  Everything else is just an excuse you are using as a reason to pause.

Be aware when the “it’s not the right time” phrase comes out of your mouth or enters your thoughts.  It could mean you are afraid of taking the next step and you are using the “it’s not the right time” as an excuse.  When you realize this is the case, now is the time to figure out an action plan to tackle the fear and step into what you want to do.

Remember, the opportunity to take an action tomorrow is never promised to you.  Most people put off many of their dreams because today is not the right time.  Instead of making an excuse, find the reasons and the way to do it now.  Whether successful or not, at least the what-ifs will be gone.  

Live your life finding ways to make ideas happen to create the dream life you deserve.  You will live a much fuller life.

What kind of ‘habit investments’ have you been making lately?  When you create a habit, it can either bring you closer to your goals or pull you further from them.  This means your returns could be positive or negative depending on the habit you created.

How do you choose the habits you make a part of your life?  One of the most effective ways to keep your habits aligned with your Principle Targets is to keep these in front of you to be read throughout every day and week.  As you make the choice to take any action, you are able to ask yourself whether the action is moving you closer to or further from your intended target.

When you are moving closer to your goals, this is a habit to take consistent action on.  Implement it every day for 21 days to create a new habit for yourself which will keep on returning positive returns. 

If you look at this new action and are unsure or know it’s pulling you the other direction, make sure you are good with the outcome before creating the negative investment.  Of course, one of the consequences of making a knowingly negative investment is the effort and time it will take to change it in the future when you want to turn it into a positive habit. 

If your goal is creating wealth, does spending 30 minutes on Facebook viewing status updates and clicking on articles get you closer to your principle targets?  Know this habit you are creating costs you time know and results later.  Using this same 30 minutes to focus on a better action item directed at your goals would result in you investing an additional 125 hours toward your principle target in a year (counting only a typical work week).  This is 15 and a half additional work days (8 hour work day) you currently are choosing to invest in surfing Facebook instead of creating more in your life.  Shocking, right?  Is this how you want to use half a month of your available wealth creation time?

Pay attention to the little habits you create which can have huge implications to your final results.  Every action and habit is either moving you closer to or further from your Principle Targets.  You get to choose which direction it goes.  Choose wisely.

I’ve got 4 simple steps that anyone just getting going will absolutely be able to apply and implement immediately to create double, to triple your results in sales right now!

I want to really get clear. You’re brand new to sales. You’re looking to figure it out. Maybe it’s your own business. You’ve got the manager breathing down your neck. Here’s 4 key components ~ 4 tips ~ of exactly what to be doing so that you can increase your results and create everything you want.

Step 1 ~ absolutely track your actions, not your results. What do I mean by that? So often, I hear, “Well, my goal is…“, “My target is…”,  “My level of sales I need to achieve is…”, what follows is the actual number, which means, “Oh, I need $5000 in sales this day” or “this week”. “I need to create so many new clients.” Those are results driven. You wake up in the morning, and you are not sure exactly what to do, because the results aren’t really what you’re supposed to be taking action on. It’s your action steps for the day that should be your focus. What I want you to do is to begin to track and pay attention to simply what you must be doing, and the results will take care of themselves.

I remember when I was in dental sales, for instance, I knew I wanted to knock on 25 new doors every single day. I knock on 25 new doors, I will absolutely get the sales I want and reach the levels I’m looking for. That was my number. I hit 25, and I’d pat myself on the back. When I am at 20, what do I do? I simply hit another door. I would knock on 1 more, 2 more, 3 more, and keep going until I hit the number that I was looking for, that I was tracking for with my activity every day. Absolutely ~ track activity, not results.

Step 2 ~ as a new sales person, you are nervous. You are shaking. You get in front of a client and you just start vomiting at them. You start delivering everything that you have learned about your product, or service. You say everything that you know. Wrong. You should Shut up. Simply listen more. Talk less. Ask more questions. Engage them more in conversations. Let them talk more. When they talk more, they love you more. When they love you more, they buy more. Absolutely listen more than you talk. Key component for new people in sales. It will deliver results for you. Pay attention.

As you’re listening, make sure that you are listening for the needs and the wants of your client, because that’s what you want to deliver as your solution. When you do,  it will mean that they’re going to buy your product or service. That’s the solution you’re offering. Make sure that that solution is matching their needs and their wants. That’s what you’re listening for. When you are quiet, and you’re asking questions, engaging them, you’re listening for the needs and wants, so that you then can respond with a solution that fits them.

Step 3 ~ This is a biggie. When I am actually in the role of the client, or the prospect for someone, and they’re looking to engage me in the sales process, I’m always amazed at how few people ask for the order. You have got to ask.

    • You want to deliver results?
    • You want to create new business in your life?
    • You have got to ask for the order!

Ask for the order is step three. Ask for it soon. Ask for it often.  Ask. Ask. Ask.

What does that look like? It actually means, “So, are you ready to get started today?”. “Here is the price of what it’s going to take for us to get going. Can I have your name and address?” “We can just start filling up the paper work right now, and get you started on achieving the benefits that you’ve already said you desired.” All these are questions asking for the order; asking them, the client, the prospect, to take action, so important. You want to be asking soon, often, always.

Step 4 ~ You have just asked for the order. Now, it is time for you to get comfortable with silence. Complete silence. You ask for the order, and you say, “So, are you ready to get started today?” and Shut up. Don’t say another word. Be silent. That pregnant pause, if you will; That pause will last for an eternity when you are brand new in sales. You will think the world has stood still. You will be standing there. They are waiting for you to say something. Maybe they are, maybe not. You’re going to out-wait them, because whoever speaks next will absolutely be the one who creates the scenario which dictates who gets what. You want to absolutely shut up. Don’t say anything else once you ask for the order. Let them respond first. You will create the desired results you’re looking for. Just Shut up.

The 4 tips are absolutely:

    • Track your actions;
    • Listen up for their needs and their wants, their desires, so you can deliver them;
    • Ask for the order, and;
    • Shut up when you ask for that order.
