“Prepare yourself for success. You have to see it coming to get there.”– Destiny Booze

Have you pictured what your success will look like?

Are you able to describe it in vivid, accurate, emotion provoking detail?

One of my favorite exercises I give to my students is writing down what your dream day looks like.  This is everything which goes on during this day.  It includes what you see, what you feel, what you smell.  I want them to feel like they are there just describing what they see or just saw.  Why so much detail?

The more real this picture is in your head, the better you are able to create it in your life now.  When your emotions are involved and multiple senses, the picture is more real like you have already experienced it.  Once you experience something, it is easier to recreate it.

The more detailed you are with the description, the easier it is for the universe to provide you all you need to realize your goal.  When you are general or vague, it’s hard for the universe to provide the result you want since it is unclear on your expectations.

Think about it like this.  If you wanted to go on vacation and said I just want to get away, would the results be the same as saying you wanted to go to a five star hotel on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico with temps of at least 85 degrees during the day with plenty of outside activities to participate in, fantastic local restaurants to eat at for dinner within walking distance and great shopping for local beach novelty items?  The second one has a much higher likelihood of getting you what you want versus the vague first statement, right.

The same is true for where you want to go with your life. See the success you want first and you will be able to find it and create it in your life.  Take the time with one of your goals to write out a detailed description of what it looks like, feels like, sounds like.  This is one of the steps toward achieving it!

I wanted to let you in on some exciting news. I have a brand new website which launched this week. Make sure to take the opportunity to look around when you finish reading.

I have been discussing it with my team for a few months now about refreshing and updating the site. Well a few weeks ago, our website got a Trojan on the server which literally started eating pieces of the website. Talk about frustrating to see a portion of your marketing disappearing while we were promoting my Mindset Mastery Experience.

Everything happens for a reason and it serves you – even if you may not understand how it will serve you when it is happening. The challenge pushed the urgency to create the new website. With some long hours by my team and our web developer, we completed it late Tuesday night.

And now I’m so happy with what we have. It presents a much better image of what I actually do along with incorporating a lot more of the updated programs I offer. Make sure to check it out and let me know what you think.

What this challenge also brought to mind is the universe works in mysterious ways. I had put out the intent to update my website. I announced the intention to my team of making this a top project to focus on. After putting this out to my team, other projects took precedence over the site redesign.

Now because I put this update intention out already, the universe had already started moving to make it happen. When we left the idea idling on the sideline, the universe kept moving forward and created a way to make this happen still.

This demonstrates the power of setting a Principle Target and screaming it from the rooftops. The forward momentum by the universe is one reason I recommend for everyone to create and share their Principle Targets with as many people as possible. By having the goal written down and letting others know about it, the idea starts to move forward.

Another benefit of letting others know you intend to accomplish a goal, it also makes you accountable to make it happen. They will ask about it consistently. And the last impression anyone wants others to have is they are falling short on their word and commitments. Knowing this about yourself, use it to help move you forward.  Play every ace you have.  Others can serve as a huge motivation to move your actions along.  Invite them in to be a part of building your success.

As you can tell, I’m extremely happy the universe found another method to help me create this new website for all of you.  Enjoy the new features and check back for a lot more activity and training here.

Make sure to leave comments about what you think of the new design below in the comments!  I would love to hear from you.

Happy New Year!

The holidays were great. I had some wonderful family time. I got a chance to unwind, relax, and reflect on the year (and years) past.

NOW it is time to plan for the future! What am I going to do with this fresh new year?

It is a funny thing that happens when we start a new calendar year. It is like getting a new pair of shoes, a new shirt, or a new car. We are so proud of it. We admire it. Hold it up to the light to really see it for all it is. We may give it that extra love and care, spending a few extra moments with just it. We proclaim how much it means to us. We even dedicate that with this new ____ (pair of shoes, shirt, car, new year, fill in the blank), we will treat it differently than any other we have ever had. We will care for it, cherish it, and protect it. We will make sure it never gets like the others.

We commit to being different!

AND… we are… for a time.

Sometimes that time is a day,… a week,… a month,… And then it happens – Days will go by and your “life happens”. You will lose track of the time. You will lose your focus. The ____ (pair of shoes, shirt, car, new year, fill in the blank) lose their attraction. The old excuses begin to set in. Your story you have told yourself over and over again in years past begins it methodical melody in your head which soothes you back to…

Doing exactly what you always have done…

Creating the results you have always gotten!

You can decide to do things differently.

You can decide to commit even more profoundly. You can decide that this is the year you BREAK The CHAINS that have bound you for years (for some decades). You can decide to bring in the resources, tools, people needed to finally reach a new height in your life on the ongoing journey to your ultimate potential.

What is it going to take? What new resources do you need? What new tools are necessary? What people do you want by your side? What is it going to take to make this year the best year ever? What is it going to take to really make the magic happen?

Take the time to create this list for your first step to create a new year for yourself… and even more importantly, a new life from here on out!

Happy New Year!

With it being the start of the year, I know you are setting your goals for 2014.

This is one of the areas I work with my students on consistently to build the foundation they need for success… and today I am going to share some of those key points to help you get off to a great start for 2014.

When you are creating your goals for 2014, they need to have 3 Key Criteria to make them powerful for you.

1. Be specific – The more detailed you are with your goal, the better you know exactly what you want. When you know exactly what you want, it is easy to put a plan in place to achieve it.

2. Quantifiable/measureable – there has to be a way to measure or quantify your goal. Number of pounds you want to lose. Body fat percentage you want to achieve. A certain number of times to work out each week. These are all different ways to measure getting into better physical shape. Each has an actual number to use when measuring success. Make sure to choose one way to measure each goal.

3. Deadline – when will this goal happen? When you have a hard deadline, you are more likely to reach your goal. Without a deadline, the goal is just an idea to be completed at one point, some day in the future. Set your deadline to increase the likelihood your goal will happen.

For each goal you have, you must have all 3 of these criteria. What I find with many goals is they are missing one or more of these criteria.

Think for a minute on goals you previously set for your life. Did the goal have all three of these criteria?

Did you achieve the goal?

If you did not, the place to start to make your goals effective is implementing these criteria. You do want to achieve your goals when you set them, correct?

Take a look at what you have created for your 2014 goals. Do they each cover the 3 Key Criteria? If not, there is no better time than the present to solidify them.

If you are struggling when you sit down to create your goals and would like some assistance, come to my next Mindset Mastery Experience event. Get the next dates by clicking here.

I spend focused time working with you on your goals at this event. This is your opportunity to ensure your 2014 is built on a solid foundation. Make your goals a strong foundation for your 2014 success.

Make sure to watch for the next post with techniques to explode your success with your 2014 goals.

Survey’s tell us that only three percent of our population has written any specific goals. They also tell us that seventy-five percent have no goals and the rest have general and unwritten goals. This means that there are a lot of us who spend our days reacting to the situations in which life presents to us. By living life in this fashion there becomes a tendency for dreams to remain dreams, instead of becoming your LIFE. Do you take the time to plan and set goals to lead yourself to higher levels of success and happiness.

What do you want out of life? Have you ever taken the time to give this some specific thought? The question itself can be quite hard to answer. Allow yourself time to answer this question and write specific goals. “I want to make more money” is a vague goal. Write a set amount with a time limit and you have a specific goal.

After a specific goal is made, set a deadline to it. How much time do you need to achieve this goal? Is this a short term goal or a long term goal? We can have a series of deadlines leading to a specific outcome.

At this point, observe the plans and goals and note areas of possible obstacles. Can these barriers be avoided or minimized? We want to be aware of these obstacles but we do not want to over-focus our attention on them. All of our energy needs to be toward the achievement of our goal.

Our mental outlook is an essential part in goal achievement. We need to train ourselves to see positive outcomes. Visualize personal success in terms of the chosen goals. Write and verbalize the goals as if they have already occurred. It is a good practice to start the day with these positive messages. Our day needs to be filled with these messages and even end it with them. This trains our mind to look for opportunities to meet our goals.

Once a plan of action is decided, you need to act on it. The sooner the better. Develop a burning desire to achieve the goal. Share with others the desired goal and ask them for their support. They may not share in your enthusiasm and then again they might. They might even know of ways to help make the goals more available to you. If you cannot get their commitment of support, you are at least reinforcing to yourselves your own goals.

Goals can come from any area. They can involve our personal life, family life, social life, work environment, financial status, or spiritual aspects. The list of possibilities is endless. Just remember, when your mind can dream it, you can achieve it.

By definition, the word Positive means dealing only with matters of fact and experience and is not speculative or theoretical.  The concept is a way of thinking; putting emphasis on processing thoughts in a more desirable, upbeat way.  It can be described as the practice of embracing the affirmative in our thoughts, feelings, actions, reactions, and our speech. This is also described as a type of attitude to be found in happy and optimistic people. Most importantly, positive thinking can be described as a skill that can be acquired by anyone. By learning this process anyone can also more easily attain their goals.

It begins with a conscious desire to pay attention to and recognize the affirmative in any given situation. Once the affirmative, or positive trait, of a situation or thought can be recognized, then the desired process can be utilized. In essence, the ability to pinpoint and utilize this in our minds and actions enables us to better reach goals, thus realizing dreams, and by making an impact on all of our endeavors.

By learning positive thinking techniques and putting them into practice throughout every aspect of our lives we can achieve many benefits. The personal benefits of adopting this type of strategy are a optimistic attitude, belief in alternative possibilities, creative ideas, better problem solving skills, confidence, focus, determination, satisfaction and feelings of achievement.

By utilizing the skills of positive thinking, you will begin to experience an increased belief in yourself and your abilities. After experiencing success after success with positive thinking, your brain will become trained to see each situation as a simple challenge instead of as a barrier that blocks your success. As this skill is developed a new belief in yourself will lead to greater focus and determination. By simply believing that you will find a suitable solution you will gain the motivation necessary to stay on task until that desirable outcome is achieved. Plus, a can do attitude will help center concentration enabling the ability to stay focused on the helpful aspects of any given situation until the challenge is resolved.
