“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.” – Jesse Owens

Have you taken the next step with your dreams? Most never do. They always lack at least one of the four components Jesse lists which holds them back from ever achieving their dreams.

Often, people will go in spurts with these four key traits for success. The determination to succeed comes and goes. When they are irritated enough by their current circumstances, they are determined to make a change… until this feeling lessens some.

Dedication and self-discipline are extremely variable. For many, the pain of making the change is greater than the pain of staying where they are. This is the reason many people stay stuck. The dream of doing and achieving something different is a fantastic thought. In many cases, the pain of where they are now must increase to get over this hurdle.

And then we come to effort. Many times this one comes down to a lack of confidence in knowing what truly to do next to create the success they want. This is one reason I coach and train entrepreneurs worldwide. I want to make sure others who do want to achieve their dreams have access to the help to get them there.

When you look at most successful entrepreneurs, there is a strong inner drive which powers these four traits. The inner drive brings these four traits together is your ‘why’. When your ‘why’ is strong enough and big enough, the other traits fall in line more easily. Your ‘why’ creates and energizes the determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort to power your success train.

Take the time to find your ‘why’ now. Being clear in yours is one of the surest ways to achieve any dream.

“Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal – a commitment to excellence – that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” – Mario Andretti

Are you committed to excellence in your life every day in every way?  Truly a big question when you think about it.  Do you give level 10 commitment to everything you do?

Many have goals or Principle Targets they have created for themselves.  Whether it’s I want to lose 20 pounds, get a 6-pack stomach vs a keg belly, make a 6-figure income this year, find my soulmate, or reconnect my relationships, the true drivers come in after the Principle Target is set.

You have to start with a strong motivation or why you are going to make changes in your life to create a different result.  If this is weak or meaningless to you, most will never even get off the couch to get started.  Make sure you feel emotion when you speak of your why.  When you can feel it deep inside, it will help motivate and drive you.

The second portion of achieving your success comes from your determination and commitment.  Each Principle Target will encounter it’s own challenges on the path to achievement.  How strongly are you committed to attaining your goal?  Will you do Whatever It Takes?  How will you react when a seemingly huge obstacle pops up in front of you?  Will you find a solution or let it hold you up and stop you?

Reflecting on these questions will let you know what else you might need to reach your Principle Targets.  Many times, people are missing at least one of these 3 key ingredients to allow their success cake to rise to the heights it is capable.  Find the missing ingredient or find an expert who is easily able to see what ingredient is needed to get your success cake to rise.

“‎Determination, effort, and practice are rewarded with success.” – Mary Lydon Simonsen

Three of the keys to reaching your goalsdetermination to overcome all obstacles, giving the effort to do whatever it takes to succeed and plenty of practice.  Do you have and do all three of these consistently in your life now?

The one which I have found can change your results most dramatically is the practice…  and this is often the one overlooked the most.

When was the last time you practiced your 30 second elevator pitch out loud?

Or took the time to run through your client screening process to work out the kinks and ensure the questions you ask guide the prospect to give you all the information you need to help them out the most?

Did you practice your upsell techniques with the new packages you created?

Have you practiced the personality identification trainings you learned at the Mindset Mastery Experience?

The famous quote from the Roman philosopher Seneca says, “Luck is when opportunity meets preparation.”  When you practice, your ‘luck’ will increase.  Just by practicing one additional skill every week, you will have sharpened 52 skills by the end of one year. What would having 52 more effective ways to engage, interest, screen and close prospects do for your business?

The game of life is won when no one else is around.

The more practice you put in, the better your skills become in any area you choose to focus.  The better your skills become, the more you are able to help others.  The more you are able to help others, the more opportunity comes your way.  The more opportunity which comes your way, the more success you will have.

Are you ready to take your determination and effort and focus them on the areas you need to practice to bring about the success you want?

“Success goes to the ones who do. Get up. Show up. Throw up if you have to. Do it afraid, but do it no matter.” – Toni Sorenson

Do you ‘just do it’ everyday in your life and business?  Or do you get sidetracked and let obstacles slow you down consistently?

One of the reasons successful entrepreneurs are successful is they just do it without any excuses.  They make sure they put themselves in the position to find new opportunities every day.  Whether this is sending out marketing, attending meetings, making phone calls, going to networking events, or one of many other action steps, they make the effort to get out and meet prospective customers daily.

They also show up ready to take advantage of every opportunity which appears.  This means they have done their homework and put in the effort ahead of time.  They know their business and how they can help others.

Successful entrepreneurs show up with a positive attitude viewing every interaction as the opening to figure out how to serve the other person best.  Sometimes this is through what services they have and other times, it’s through referring the person to one of their contacts.

And the biggest key trait is a determination and a motivation to do whatever it takes every day.  This means when an obstacle arises, they find a solution to it.  They utilize their resources to help them continue moving forward.  They embrace any fears knowing this just means they are growing and doing new actions outside their comfort zone and that’s part of all growth.  They ‘Just Do It’!

Are you willing to be a successful entrepreneur and just do it?  It’s what is necessary to achieve all you want to achieve.  Embrace this mantra now to create the life you want and deserve.

By definition, the word Positive means dealing only with matters of fact and experience and is not speculative or theoretical.  The concept is a way of thinking; putting emphasis on processing thoughts in a more desirable, upbeat way.  It can be described as the practice of embracing the affirmative in our thoughts, feelings, actions, reactions, and our speech. This is also described as a type of attitude to be found in happy and optimistic people. Most importantly, positive thinking can be described as a skill that can be acquired by anyone. By learning this process anyone can also more easily attain their goals.

It begins with a conscious desire to pay attention to and recognize the affirmative in any given situation. Once the affirmative, or positive trait, of a situation or thought can be recognized, then the desired process can be utilized. In essence, the ability to pinpoint and utilize this in our minds and actions enables us to better reach goals, thus realizing dreams, and by making an impact on all of our endeavors.

By learning positive thinking techniques and putting them into practice throughout every aspect of our lives we can achieve many benefits. The personal benefits of adopting this type of strategy are a optimistic attitude, belief in alternative possibilities, creative ideas, better problem solving skills, confidence, focus, determination, satisfaction and feelings of achievement.

By utilizing the skills of positive thinking, you will begin to experience an increased belief in yourself and your abilities. After experiencing success after success with positive thinking, your brain will become trained to see each situation as a simple challenge instead of as a barrier that blocks your success. As this skill is developed a new belief in yourself will lead to greater focus and determination. By simply believing that you will find a suitable solution you will gain the motivation necessary to stay on task until that desirable outcome is achieved. Plus, a can do attitude will help center concentration enabling the ability to stay focused on the helpful aspects of any given situation until the challenge is resolved.
