Why

“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.” – Jesse Owens

Have you taken the next step with your dreams? Most never do. They always lack at least one of the four components Jesse lists which holds them back from ever achieving their dreams.

Often, people will go in spurts with these four key traits for success. The determination to succeed comes and goes. When they are irritated enough by their current circumstances, they are determined to make a change… until this feeling lessens some.

Dedication and self-discipline are extremely variable. For many, the pain of making the change is greater than the pain of staying where they are. This is the reason many people stay stuck. The dream of doing and achieving something different is a fantastic thought. In many cases, the pain of where they are now must increase to get over this hurdle.

And then we come to effort. Many times this one comes down to a lack of confidence in knowing what truly to do next to create the success they want. This is one reason I coach and train entrepreneurs worldwide. I want to make sure others who do want to achieve their dreams have access to the help to get them there.

When you look at most successful entrepreneurs, there is a strong inner drive which powers these four traits. The inner drive brings these four traits together is your ‘why’. When your ‘why’ is strong enough and big enough, the other traits fall in line more easily. Your ‘why’ creates and energizes the determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort to power your success train.

Take the time to find your ‘why’ now. Being clear in yours is one of the surest ways to achieve any dream.

“The person who makes a success of living is the one who sees his goal steadily and aims for it unswervingly. That is dedication.” – Cecil B. DeMille

Are you dedicated to your principle targets?

Do you stay focused on them until you reach your goals or do you get sidetracked by something else?

Many of the students I work with come to me because they tend to get sidetracked in one way or another.  This happens when they see a new opportunity, a new program to help them, their job, their relationships, etc.  The list can go on and on for many.  I call this being shiny-balled.  When the shiny ball pops up, it distracts you from the goal you had previously set.

Ever happened to you?  I know it has happened to me.

Here are a few of tips on how to keep you on the steady path toward your goal:

  • Post your principle targets (goals) in in at least one very visible spot for you to see as you go through your day.  This could be on a white board in your office, on your screen saver on your computer, a printed copy on your mirror to look at every morning, etc.
  • Continually ask yourself throughout the day is the action you are taking now moving you closer to or further away from your principle targets.
  • Use a calendar to schedule blocks of time for specific action steps which are focused on your goals to occur in your day.
  • Have an accountability system set in place to keep you on track.  If you are in one of our coaching programs, this is built into the program when you use the tools and resources available to you.
  • Scream your goals from the rooftops.  Tell everyone you know what your goals are and when you will accomplish them.  This enrolls others to help you along your path.

Take these tips and use them consistently to aim unswervingly at your principle targets.  You success is achieved through the dedication to do whatever it takes to stay on track to reach your goals.  Are you ready to implement your whatever it takes attitude?

“The way I do anything is the way I do everything.” – Paul Finck

How do you your daily activities?  Do you approach each one with the same energy, passion and positive mindset?  If not, why not?

Think about it for a moment.  Would you get better results if you attacked the tasks which were the ones you dreaded doing with the same passion as the ones you love to do?  Of course you will.  This congruency in your effort in all you do sets the bar high for all activities.  A higher bar leads to higher Principle Targets which will lead to more success in your life.

Utilizing this approach also has another benefit on top of feeding the increased results in all areas of your life.  It creates an energy around you which others will notice.  It will actually draw them to you.  When people see you are always full of energy, they want to be around you.

Having more connections and contacts feeds your whole life and business.  This same high level of energy and optimistic mindset attracts the same type of person to you meaning better quality of contacts.  This better quality of contacts leads to better opportunities in your life.   Better opportunities  builds more of the kind of life you are looking to create for yourself.

You see the change which will happen in your life just by making small adjustments to your overall approach.  If you have never used this same energy and mindset for all of your activities, I challenge  you to begin doing everything in your life with this same energy and positive, optimistic, opportunistic mindset.  The results from doing just this will amaze you.

Are you ready for this next step to break the chains holding you down?

When we study the lives of those that have achieved excellence in any walk of life we discover many common characteristics:

• Hard work,
• Dedication,
• A natural inclination,
• Talent that has been developed and perfected over time, and
• Powerful supporting beliefs.

Why is it that some have big bright futures stretching out in front of them, while many see their future as down right dark, gloomy and unclear? Why is it that some lead lives of outstanding achievement, while so many lead lives of quiet desperation?

When someone describes their future as down right dark, gloomy and unclear, and I was to ask them to imagine their future, the image would be dark and gloomy and unclear. When I ask the person with the huge bright future stretching out in front of them to describe their future, I would not be at all surprised to hear that the image was big and bright. We would I’m sure find a similar pattern in the internal dialogue of these two people; one being more negative, and the other positive, strong, confident and encouraging. We would also find distinct differences in the types of feelings each of them generate and experience.

So to really grasp the understanding of what the structure of excellence really is, we must embrace the power of our minds. Specifically, the power of our mind to control our future. In fact, not just control it. Our mind actually has the power to CREATE it in the image we desire. Our world – our very destiny is determined by the kind and type of pictures, sounds and feelings that we habitually run in our neurology.

So could it really be that simple? Could the difference between those that live lives of quiet desperation, and those that are able to get themselves to consistently do what is necessary for the achievement of excellence be as simple as the types of pictures, feelings and sounds they habitually use? I give you a resounding YES as the answer!

Remember – You are in control. You can decide to create the empowering pictures, sounds, images, and associated feelings in your neurology to create the REAL WORLD you live in daily. Excellence is within your grasp! The choice is yours – take it today.

P.S. For those of you looking to break your chains holding you back and create this excellence in your life, check out this special offer to start working with me.
