“Some people say I have attitude – maybe I do…but I think you have to. You have to believe in yourself when no one else does – that makes you a winner right there.” – Venus Williams

Do you have the success attitude? It’s the one Venus is referring to in her quote. The success attitude is the confidence in yourself to know you will create and succeed. Is this your typical way of looking at and living your life?

One of the biggest misconceptions people have is that you must be humble to succeed. Look at what Donald Trump is accomplished in the political arena. Whether you agree with his opinions or not, he has become the President of the United States of America. A great part of this is due to his confidence. He is willing to say and act on what most would never even consider.

His confidence is part of his appeal. He has a strong opinion which is what many others lack. Because of this strong opinion and passion for what he believes, others follow him.

This has been a shock to the U.S. media and many politicians who feel you must look to satisfy everyone and offend no one to be successful in this arena. It’s actually refreshing to see someone passionately believe and express their thoughts – whether you agree with them or not. Debate of thought is helpful for all willing to listen and learn. If all of our leaders would do this, we would have the country we all want.

The important piece to remember is this kind of confidence creates the success both Venus and Donald have in their lives. They have believed in themselves whenever no one else did. Having a strong self-image carries you through challenging times when others stop or quit their journey. This confidence creates the wins in your life through your dedication and perseverance.

The desire for unending confidence is one reason I recommend all my students do their Daily Dynamic Declarations. These affirmations are intended to program you in a positive way to instill more confidence. When was the last time you said yours out loud?

My recommendation, write out your Daily Dynamic Declarations. Read them at least twice each day. One time when you wake up and are getting ready for your day. This sets the perfect intention for what you want in your day. The other definite time is right before you go to bed. This programs your mind with the thoughts you want before going to sleep. Your subconscious mind then gets to work on internalizing these declarations as you sleep.

As an added bonus to fast forward the creation of your dream life, pick multiple times throughout the day to say them out loud too. Any time you want more confidence, read them out loud. Soon, you will have the confidence Venus talks about in her quote.

“You manifest what you believe, not what you want.” -Sonia Ricotti

Take a minute and look at the results you have achieved so far in your life.  Now think about all the dreams and goals you have had at one point or another.  What was different for the goals you had where you succeeded versus the ones you came up short on?

Typically, one of the biggest differences lies in the belief the goal was possible.  Working with the number of students I have over the years, one of the areas I usually work on is expanding the possibilities in their lives.  I do this to help them achieve greater results than they ever imagined possible before working with me.

The key ingredient for their success after expanding their minds is buying in to the reality their goals and dreams are possible for them to reach.  This belief is what gives you the ability to act confidently.

Often this belief comes through walking them through the action steps to achieve their ultimate vision.  Once they see the steps laid out, the belief is easier.  The path has been explained.

Any time you have a large goal where you feel yourself doubting whether it is achievable, take the time to map out the action plan.  If you are getting stuck at any point, reach out to a mentor like me who is able to provide the knowledge you need to complete the plan.

Make sure you get to the stage where you believe your goal will happen.  It will determine your success.  Anything short of complete belief will leave you short of your desired result.

“Many people succeed when others do not believe in them. But rarely does a person succeed when he does not believe in himself.” – Herb True

Do you believe in yourself and your ability to achieve your principle targets?  As with everything in life, your thoughts are the incubator of your results.

Have you ever seen crabs in a tank or a bucket without a lid on it?  Did you wonder why they didn’t put one on there since they could easily climb out?  It’s because the lower crabs keep reaching up and pulling down the top crab who is attempting to escape.

You are the top crab looking to get out of the bucket.  All the naysayers in your life are the rest of the crabs attempting to grab you with their claws and pull you back into the bucket with them.  You have to believe you will escape the bucket or the other crabs will continue to hold you down.

For you to achieve any goal, you must first believe you can just like the top crab. This belief is key because you will undoubtedly have people who tell you what you are doing will never succeed.

To be able to use these doubters as fuel to motivate you for the journey, you will want to believe in yourself.  If there is doubt in your head or heart, this kind of negative feedback from others can be devastating.  Essentially the other person is looking to program you to fail… or even worse, to quit.

When you have a big vision and a huge why to accomplish it, make sure your belief is strong.  Surround yourself with others who will support you instead of drag you back into the bucket.

Have you ever noticed the truly successful people in life encourage others to pursue their dreams?  They get it.  They know you must believe to achieve.

Remember, every successful person has this one trait in common – an unending and devout belief they will succeed with any goal they have.  Follow their lead and start believing in yourself and your goals.  It is the keystone to build your success!

What do you believe in? Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe in a particular business system? Do you believe in yourself? How about life after death? or God?

We typically think of the word belief as an opinion or conviction about something – an existence not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof. The truth, however, is that your beliefs shape what you experience in this reality. In other words, Your beliefs shape your reality and in turn your destiny.

The origin of the word “belief” offers a telling verse. Belief is a compound word with parts synonymous to: “be” meaning “by” and “lief” meaning “live.” Taken together, the meaning of something we “believe in” is something we “live by”. This etymology sheds light on the age old debate between the advocates of faith as a means to salvation and those that assert action is key to a full and fulfilling life. The word belief means that acts and faith are inextricably linked. What you do… the actions you take… are in accordance with your beliefs. The proof of your faith is in your actions. The truth of your words is in your deeds.

Relying on this meaning of the word suggests “beliefs” determine your worldview inextricably linked to how you live. Rational explanations (or intellectual fabrications) notwithstanding, beliefs organize your life.

You Do what You Believe.

So, again: What do you really believe?

You can determine this only by observing how you live; how you respond to others; how you respond to the world around you; and what you in fact do.

Honestly making this assessment: Do you like what you see? If not, is it time to change?

By nature we are a nostalgic breed. We yearn for “the way things were” and refer to it as a preference to what they are experiencing now. We seek security in the past and attempt to prolong the glory of prior triumphs. We resist change.

Life doesn’t work that way. You see, life is on the move. Life is in constant change. You are on a journey from where you are to where you are meant to be.

Instead, of reminiscing or pining for the past, begin where you are now. Though you may temporarily succumb to doubt and fear, or mistakenly take a path of least resistance, recognize progress in this reality entails facing struggle and taking risk. It is time to act; it is time to change beliefs; it is time to align your beliefs with your actions. It is time to become whole. Believe in your life and act accordingly.

Live life to the fullest,
